Hi! Brittany here. Please read on to learn why I created Surje!
It Started at the Rink. You know the drill. Dance, gymnastics, soccer, cheer—as a family, we tried all the sports. But when my oldest daughter, Bria, found hockey, the rink became our second home and "hockey mom" became my new call of duty. Sitting in those stands, I noticed something from the top of the boards that caught my attention. The water bottles my daughter and her teammates were using were, let's face it, very obviously made for the boys. They definitely didn't represent the vibrant, high-energy female athlete I saw on the ice and in the dressing room. After shopping for a hockey-style squeeze that matched my daughters interests and style and finding many 'made for the boys' styles, many in white, and a few in standard pink, I realized these weren't going to cut it, but more importantly: why are girls the afterthought?
More Than a Bottle. I created Surje because I wanted my daughter to look at her gear and feel like the game sees her. I wanted to create a brand that caters to her energy and interests and honours her hustle. My founding product, the Surje Squeeze, is a set of vibrant bottles that my daughter, and every young female athlete, can feel proud to set on the boards, in the dugout, or on the court.
My Commitment. Today, I have two daughters in hockey. My wish for them—and for your daughters—is that they continue their sports journey knowing they belong. That’s why Surje is a female-first brand. We aren't just making products; we are investing in the future. We give 1% of our annual profits back into girls' sports programs to ensure that all girls who have found their love for the game know that it is truly made for them, too.
Thank you for being a part of our team.
